Students Activities
Since culture is the harmonius development of faculty in man, acquainting ourselves with the best that has been known and said on the world, various cultural activities have been organized at GEC Jhalawar viz:
Blood donation camp:- The camp was organized on October 1st 2007 with the help of CMO district hospital Jhalawar in the college campus. 58 students & faculty members donated blood with enthusiasm to overcome the needs of future casualties.
Plantation:- GEC Jhalawar is alert and cautious towards keeping the campus green and environment friendly by growing plants & trees.
To encourage students for their participation in various activities, different ‘creative arts societies’ have been constituted. Various competitions are conducted under this head from time to time. Following are the photographs of Rangoli competition held on 23rd Nov. 07
To enforce an environment of uniformity and discipline ‘Dress Code’ for students has been introduced with effect from October 2007.
A team of selective students (Boys and Girls) were sent to MNIT Jaipur to participate in various cultural activities organized from February 01 to February 03, 2008 under the head BLITZSCHLAG’08, besides gathering useful information regarding academic and cultural event organization, the team members felt inspired to organize such an event at GEC Jhalawar in the next academic year.
With much patriotic fervor, GECJ celebrated its first Republic Day with full fan-fare on 26th January 2008. Indeed, it is a matter of great pleasure that all students and faculty members comprising the office staff celebrated this National Day in a remarkable manner. This reflected India’s ancient and unchanging rhythms and enthused one and all with love and respect for the country.
The college focuses on lot of practical exposure loaded with richness of activities. With this aim, a poster competition was organized in the campus on 12th March, 08 which was flooded with students participating with wonderful colors and varying ideas showing their conscious state of mind and willingness to conquer the world.
A debate competition was organized on 18th March, 08. Students participatedwith full zeal to put forth their views on current topics.
After the tedious work of admissions, teaching, examinations etc. there comes a season of celebrations. 2007-08 was the foundation year for this college. So, many cultural activities as well as sports meet were organized in the month of March & April 08.
‘Cultural Festival’ under the banner of ‘AAGHAZ 2008’ was organized in the college campus on 19th & 20th April, 08. Students acted with much fervor.
‘Annual function cum prize distribution’ was organized on 21st April, 08 to felicitate those who have put their worth and talent.
'World Environment Day’ was organized on 05th June, 08 with special guest lectures, students question & answer session and plantation by all the students in the campus.
Independence Day 15th August 2008 was celebrated by all in the campus with flag hoisting and patriotic songs by the students.
The college administration organized a big plantation day on 28th August, 08 under the banner of NSS at its new site which is under construction. It was participated by all the students who were eager to take care of the premises of the college. This was possible only by the support extended by the local administration and forest department as they could provide enough plants and tree guards for their safety.
Art Of Living:-
For the overall personality development of the students and to teach them about our ancient vedic culture, Ministry of Sports, Government of Rajasthan is sponsoring the Art of Living organization - blessed by Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji Maharaj of Bangalore, to teach Yogic Exercises to the students so that they can improve upon their lifestyle.
In this regard, Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES) course was organized for five days i.e. from 28th August to 31st August 08. In future also the yogic exercises will be continued under the Art Of Living.
